Us ‘Fashionistas’ and ‘Sewists’ take a lot of our fashion terminology for granted. I remember when I taught high school Home Economics in the 90’s and even now at my Sunroom Sewing Studio…young gals do NOT automatically know these terms. They won’t learn them unless we know them and share the knowledge. Then again, perhaps they will if they cruise Pinterest like I do! When I see Peter Pan Collars, I remember learning that underlining a batiste with a 2nd layer helped keep the seam allowance from showing through – WAY back when I was creating classic clothing for my little boy and girl. Ahhh, another Blog Post idea…watch for it coming up!
