Rock Music Star T-Shirt Red Up-cycled Jacket
 
This one-of-a-kind jacket is crafted from an upcycled Elvis T-shirt and fabrics from my collection. The red polyester parachute pants were a perfect match for the T-shirt’s hues, and I flipped the jacket's closure to match the direction of Elvis on the shirt. To add structure, I quilted the front to another T-shirt, and used a soft acrylic knit for the back yoke and right front. The pant legs made the perfect sleeves, with their drawstring finish at the cuffs. I added an antique red button and twisted cord for closure, with a hook and eye for extra security. The jacket is fully lined with red polyester and features bound armholes. The design is based on a Vogue Julio Csar pattern, which I’ve loved for its perfect collar silhouette.

Regarding fit, there is next to no fit to this jacket other than shoulder/skeletal size - see Finished Garment Measurements #7 & 9.  It was created using a size 16-18 Vogue pattern listing bust measurement as 36-38"

CARE RECOMMENDATION
Since reds likely 'run', I did take time to 'set' the dyes in fabric.  However, due to the lining and fabric combination, I would highly recommend dry cleaning this garment, or gently hand-washing in cold water, line dry, and careful steam iron touchup.
