A Trip Down Memory Lane...
Londa's Creative Sweatshirt Jackets
When I closed my retail storefront in 2003, I started creating my 'Creative Sweatshirt Jackets'. First, I sold them at galleries and area craft shows. Then, I developed the 'How-To's in my patterns which took me 'on the road' to sewing expos, teaching at shops and guilds country-wide from 2005 through spring of 2018.

Taught as a class at my shop to rave reviews. 1st inspiration was to utilize the lower ribbing of the sweatshirt as a collar!
Wrapping edges with bias cut silk ribbon I dyed. Collar again of lower ribbing, lettuce-edged on my serger.
Starting to sell at galleries...I had to come up with some simple versions. This sold for $89 back in 2005!
Lois Ericson's 'Pages' pattern was the inspiration for placement of fabrics from my stash!
Cherrywood Cottons pieced for the bindings, and 'hairy' yarn couched for fun!
More dyed silk ribbon - and venturing into asymmetric openings.
All the sudden, my fabric stash was INVALUABLE!
Couching became my 'Go To' for embellishment. Again, the lower ribbing of the sweatshirt is the collar of this jacket.
